Answer from John:Unless there is a law or regulation covering such matters in your state, the general requirement is that certain information be "clear and conspicuous," a phrase without a good definition. A lot of people, especially some of the older members of your community, might argue that even 8-point print in an ad would not be legible without pulling out a magnifying lens.
Answer from Andy:Very few regulatory requirements I have seen actually specify a font size for advertisements. Actually, I have only one that may apply. As John noted, "clear and conspicuous" is the common test. Reg Z does have an 18-point size requirements on credit card solicitations, as you can see in Section 226.5a(b)(1).
That said, a 6-point font size would not pass my personal test for clear and conspicuous.
