Using case studies for robbery training

Answered by:

Question:
We have never been robbed, so it’s hard to convince people to take training seriously. Any thoughts?
Answer:

Just because it hasn’t happened doesn’t mean it won’t. We have seen dramatic increases in violence over the past couple of years, and it is critical that we prepare not only for different types of robberies, but also for potentially violent customers, domestic violence situations, and active shooter events. I find that using case studies in training is effective because the audience can picture themselves in a similar situation and further recognize the need for better training and preparation.
