Overview
BankersOnline.com (also known as "BOL") contains thousands of articles on topics of interest to bankers. In addition to articles, it houses short streaming videos, a major links collection, online regulations, a store, a buyer's guide, a career center, forms, tools, virtual greetings, and an incredibly active message board. To maximize your use of the site, spend a few moments on this page learning how the site is organized and what it offers.
Navigational Aids
There are six navigational aids on the site.
- The Calendar (front page, bottom right) allows you to keep track of seminars and conferences being offered by a variety of organizations.
- The powerful search engine allows you to search by keyword or phrase. Search by author name to locate all the articles written by your favorite BOL writers or gurus. You'll find the search feature on virtually every page of the site.
- The Site Map link brings up a pop-up box containing links to (and explanations of) all the sections of the site.
- In the Information Vault, articles are indexed by subject matter.
- The Launch Pad launches you to other banking-related sites on the Web.
- BOL Archives preserves the content by date. If you're looking for an article that ran a particular week and can't remember the title or author, the Archives may be your quickest route to locate it. Or if you've been on vacation and want to see what was featured during your absence, the archives will allow you to do so.
Main Sections
There are six main content sections on BOL: Compliance, Technology/eBanking, Lending, Marketing, Operations, and Security. Each week, new content is featured within each of those sections.
Connect and Shop
You can shop for special BOL products in the Banker Store. Locate an outside supplier of a product or service with our new buyer's guide -- BOL Vendor Connect. Find a new position, or review candidates to hire in BOL Career Connect. Take an online course through BOL Learning Connect. Learn the background of our BOL Gurus and find out what they can do for you in Guru Central.
Special Sections
Bankers' Threads is like a 24/7 networking opportunity. It is a message board with tens of thousands of messages, from serious to hilarious. Banker Tools houses contributed resources from BOL users, from checklists to charts. Alphabet Soup is where you'll find your favorite regs in hypertext format. The Alerts & Counterfeits section contains the latest warnings about fraud items. All the information you'd ever need about the law of personal property secured transactions is found in Article 9 Central. The Bank Robbery Page is BOL's way of helping prevent and solve bank robberies. Court Watch provides news on judicial decisions. You can learn about how to detect and prevent ID Fraud in the ID Fraud Center or combat money laundering in the USA PATRIOT/AML area of the site. Keep on top of OFAC compliance issues with the OFAC page. Stay on top of issues relating to the Soldier's and Sailor's Civil Relief Act on the SSCRA page. Get help with information security issues in the Information Security Clearinghouse. The Web Site Road Maps help you find what you need on the regulators' sites. The BOL Stock Center (on the front page) offers a quick look at the market, as well as the opportunity to track a personalized portfolio.

Stay Informed
The Top Stories section features the latest regulatory information. Along with archived Top Stories pages and separate pages for Pending Proposals and Recently Finalized Rules, you'll find what you need to stay current on what the regulators are doing. There are three email briefings you can subscribe to. The Banker Briefing gives you a weekly snapshot of new content on the site. The Compliance Briefings are daily updates on compliance actions. Tech Alerts brief you on computer viruses and other technology problems. Periodically, there are special Compliance Briefings and Special Banker Briefings as hot issues warrant special updates.
