Companies Offer Imaging At ATM

Two bank technology customers have combined their technologies to offer banks and other financial institutions the capability of creating check and cash images at the first point of deposit for many consumers - the automated teller machine.

Advanced Financial Solutions, Inc. (AFS) and Infonox are offering a product that combines AFS's imaging technology with Infonox transaction software. The result is a solution that will allow automated teller machines to capture images of the back and front of checks as well as images of cash deposits. Traditionally, imaging is done at a central processing center. While the checks and cash still flow through the system, the capability of capturing the image at the ATM allows banks to offer decreased times for funds availability by speeding up the deposit process and allows quicker fraud detection. ATM customers get an image receipt of their cash or checks.
