Crown a Privacy Czar

Every bank should have an officer in charge of privacy. The appointment should be announced throughout the bank. In order to be effective, the "Privacy Czar" should have direct access to senior management. The program depends on each bank employee following the policy and procedures and identifying or recognizing situations that call for special handling. A high level of responsibility and strong support of senior management will "inspire" bank staff to be committed to the program. The more committed staff is, the more effective the privacy program will be.
