The use of credit scoring is growing rapidly. Not only is credit scoring becoming more common, the ways in which lenders can use credit scoring are increasing.

The OCC recently posted its third quarter CRA ratings. Of 63 banks examined, 10 earned an Outstanding and 53 earned a Satisfactory. The Outstandings are spread throughout the nation.

In it's September list, FDIC reported CRA ratings for 141 banks. The ratings were predominantly Satisfactory and Outstanding. Thirty-three banks were rated Outstanding.

Of the many complaints that the OCC receives annually against banks, many are based on the Uniform Commercial Code, state law, and other areas that are not within the OCC's regulatory authority.
