Guess
Train your employees by product type, not just a generic overview training. Train them to "think" before they "act".

(O.K., so I know if I could figure out how to get them to REALLY think first, I could make a billion bucks!)

Sorry for the late response but I am interesting in any possible ideas that might come from this thread.

I am coming up with our training now and am trying to piece together an excercise/game that drives the point home. Our group responses best to scenario type stuff.

The best idea I have at the moment is getting some of my staff to fill out questionaires on their co-workers. The questions will range from cat/dog's name to mother's madien name etc. They cannot use financial resources to obtain the information but the rest is up to them. They can start converstations to get the info, use public resources etc etc. They cannot disclose the game to non "info miners" either.

I am worried about put this "game" into practice though. If I don't receive the results I am looking for the excercise will be a bust. Any thoughts?
