We are considering adding an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to our benefits package. I am looking for some references on EAP companies that you may use or be familiar with. We are 300M community bank located in Minnesota with 8 branches + mortgage division and approximately 100 employees. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Betsy,

My bank just switched over to UnumProvident for our EAP. Earlier this year we had lost our EAP benefit, as it had become too costly. However, UnumProvident apparently provides a service that was affordable enough for us to obtain EAP services again (it was a benefit management really wanted for employees).

Here is some info: Unum site

We are a community bank with about 375MM in assets, with about the same employee base as you. I'm not in HR, but I'd recommend checking out Unum. My HR folks are raving about it. Good luck!

Betsy, We get ours through a state sponsored savings league organization. Have you checked with them?
What happens actually is the league offers a bundled health care package (vision, health, hosp., dental, EAP, etc.) which combines various companies. The EAP portion of the package is sponsored by CIGNA.

Your medical insurance provider can be a good source of references in your area, as can local psychologists, especially those who specialize in workplace issues.

When I was with a bank and searching for EAP providers, I prepared an RFP and sent it to several potential companies. By preparing an RFP, you can specify what your bank's needs are.
