I am an ex banker who is now a trainer at a bank that has no training department but me. I am looking at training materials and places to train myself and would like to know what other people feel are the better places (BAI, Shessnoff, etc) to go for training. Also, if anyone knows of a site where there are other bank trainers that would also be great.

Thanks..

I am also a bank training department of 1. I don't know of any sites with just bank trainers. ASTD is a training organization but their forum is not bank-specific and not very active.

What kind of training are you looking for? Are you looking for training to get yourself up to speed, or for online training to offer to bank employees. Will you be doing all training - system, procedure, compliance, or do you plan on getting help for some of that?

Send me a pm and we can discuss.

We're definitley not in Kansas...
We utlize the online training from BAI. I have found it very beneficial. I also use this site and InfoVault as resources. For system training, I would contact your core system vendor, they may offer webinars and classes on their product.

Is your bank a member of your state's banking association?
If so, that's a good place to start.

Also, I've gone to a few seminars from https://www.probank.com/pbs/home.aspx
that have been good. And you can buy their manuals without going to the seminars, and I have found them helpful as well.

My manager and compliance officer have been to some Professional Bank Services seminars as well and said that they were useful as well. Thanks for the suggestion.

The Infovault is on BankersOnline. Look on the left side of the home page.
There's a TON of stuff on BOL, not just the threads, that will be very helpful to you.
