Paradise!
In this day and age of fraud, and it's only getting worse,is your bank or credit union allowing change of address over the phone? I have suggested we don't and was looked at like i was crazy. Shortly afterward we took a big loss because we took the request over the phone. This impersonator had ALL the customer's info. The more response i receive from you all the better feel i'll have for what others are doing to address the issue. Thanks in advance for your response.

We require that the address change be done in writing. We prefer in person at the branch, but we do understand that sometimes that is not possible. The request must be signed (for signature comparison) and both the old address and new address must be included.

Same for us. In the rare instance we take a request over the phone, we require certain identifiable information from the customer and we ask the customer to sign a form the next time they are in a branch.

We require a signed change of address form no matter how the request came in. After that we do an address analysis via eFunds, and if all is well, we do the address change. With the Red Flags now in place, we take no chances! No signed form, no address change!
