OK, Waterhouse, I'm game:
When I was in college, I used to sleepwalk. And actually, since it was a co-ed dorm, it was pretty interesting. About 8 years ago, when I was still married, my husband brought home a co-worker because there was supposed to be a bad snowstorm, and they thought that they'd drive in together the next day. So I made them a nice dinner. The guy, 55 years old was German, I mean real German and his name was Wolfgang (no kidding). And he slept in our guest room. Around 3 am, I slept-walked (sp?) into the guest room and climbed into bed with him. He hollered "Vhat is going on heeere?! Are you crazy?". He thought I was awake. I, of course, woke up, and thought I'd die of embarrassment!
Actually, I have a lot of embarrassing moments!

One of my most embarassing moments happened shortly after I had began working here 17 years ago. I was a messenger and had delivered all of our morning mail - visited virtually every department of the bank and had seen everyone who worked here. I had walked to the post office and to one of our local drive through branches. I was in the mail room when a male co-worker came in and informed me that my zipper was down. If that wasn't bad enough he then told me that the girls in the loan department had asked him to tell me! I was so embarrassed that I didn't want to leave the mail room for the rest of the day!

I've got to be anonymous for this one. Let me start by saying that this did not happen to me. It happened to a friend of mine who told me the story. One night, my friend, let's call him Charlie, was out at a local bar partaking in beverages of the alcoholic sort, much as young, virile males do in their early 20s. He met up with a girl and together they continued to consume multitudes of alcohol. At the end of the night they went back to Charlie's house. Actually Charlie's parent's house since he still lived at home. They were downstairs watching TV and "whatnot" (Charlie's words). At some point they passed out. Early in the morning, the girl needs to use the bathroom so Charlie shows her where it is. She does her duty and proceeds to go back downstairs. Never having been in Charlie's house before, the girl gets lost. She ends up climbing in bed, telling "Charlie" to scoot over. It was actually Charlie's DAD that she was talking to. If that's not bad enough...... she was naked! ABSOLUTELY TRUE STORY! Needless to say, Charlie's Mom was not happy, Charlie's Dad thought it was hilarious and the girl never showed her face around there again.

I have had so many embarrassing moments, that none stand out right now as being the "most embarrassing". However, I thought about something that happened to a cousin of mine. It was pretty funny and it really sounds like something from the movies.
His wife tells the story:
Once Sammy, his wife, Dottie, and several other couples went hunting in Texas....Dove hunting. They were caught feathering the doves in the field on their very first day and had their guns taken away.
Since they were in the middle of nowhere, they decided to head back home. They loaded the campers up and started out during the night. Sammy was tired and decided to sleep in the camper. While traveling, they came across an accident site. Of course all campers had to stop. Sammy peeked through the window but wasn't able to see very good, so he rummaged through the camper and found Dottie's robe. He stepped out of the camper for a quick look and yep, the camper started rolling and he was left on the side of the road. A very nice police officer, (after issuing a ticket for riding in the camper while traveling), started down the road, sirens blasting and light flashing, until he caught up to the camper.
Once this was done, all campers decided to stop a small diner for coffee. They were sitting at the table. Needless to say, it had not been Sammy's day. He was angry, disgusted and complaining. Dottie quitely leaned over to tell him that his pants were unzipped....He zipped them and when they got up to leave...he had the end of the table cloth caught in the zipper.....everything from the table fell to the floor....
Poor guy....he died a couple of years ago, and at his funeral, I couldn't help but think of that story.........

Before I was married, my girlfriend (not the wife) and I were caught "doing the dirty" in a dressing room at the GAP. Too much noise I guess, we were promptly asked to leave the store and not return.
I was very embarrassed, yet somehow proud of the event.

One summer at the beach I purchased a new yellow bikini. It fit very well and I wore it to the beach the very next day. As I was walking along the edge of the water I was getting wet as the water splashed up my legs and on to my bikini bottoms. As I was passing, people were pointing and whispering and smiling at me. So of course I thought WOW I must look pretty good in this bikini. As I approached my sister laying on the beach she gasped and told me to cover my bottoms. Suprised I asked why. Little did I know the bottoms did not have a lining and when they got wet, well you can guess the rest..... Oh was I embarassed Needless to say I tossed the bathing suit.

Another bikini story...
When my husband & I were dating he had just gotten a fishing boat. Around here, you fish around the "islands" on the bridges so there are normally a lot of boats around. Well, I had caught my requesite 10 fish so I was done and began to lay out on the sundeck of the boat. I went to stand up and get a drink and POP, there went the clasp on the top of my suit. Everyone got an eyeful. The really funny part is we had a bow-rider so everyone got a view of him tying my top back on with crab string.
I think a lot of embarrassing things have happened when we were fishing.

I had a friend who wore a really lovely spagetti strap gown to the Mayor's ball. She's a petite girl, with petite appendages so she went without support (was that politically correct or what!). The mayor asked her to dance, and while they were out dancing one of the strings broke and her umm appendages...were bared in their entirety to the major, and the rest of the room. He was kind enough to help her sew her top back together...but dang that was a funny moment (since it wasn't me) LOL

Ok Maria...lets see (there are so many, I'm a terminal klutz). I was a volunteer beer babe at a golf course a few years ago. Volunteer beer babes are allowed to partake, but since I don't drink beer, I was not. My friend however was partaking and driving and decided to take a short cut through the woods because we knew there were bear on the hole coming up and we wanted to avoid them. (Sure the logic of avoiding bear by going through the woods they live in is a bit iffy...but there was a BBQ on the hole so they were temporarily out of their element partaking of BBQ). Anyhoo...she took the cart on a four wheeling adventure from hell (kinda fun) and as we rounded a corner she nearly hit a bear. She swerved and got us stuck in a mud hole. I moved her drunken bumm off of the seat and tried to get the cart out, all the while watching for the bear. We were giggling so hard he probably left anyhoo, but you never know. Back and forth we rocked the cart, finally breaking lose into the bushes ahead of us...and over the little three foot embankment we couldn't see. Yes...I rolled the golf cart! I was teased so badly about drinking while carting (which is what they assumed we were doing) that it's still an issue when I volunteer at the tournament. I don't even like beer!!! (now had we been serving martini's...this would have been a different issue)

Two quick stories: 1. A friend and I were golfing at a rather nice golf course around here (Cog Hill, home of the Western Open). And we were both in the cart, driving around looking for a ball. We were both looking at the ground for the ball, so we didn't initially see the tree. Now I didn't hit the tree....I bailed out of the cart (and I was driving!!!)...only to see my friend slam right into it. He was embarrassed. I thought it was funny. 2. I lost a bet in college. Because I lost, I had to streak naked around our block, carrying a torch. It was 3am, and I didn't think anyone would be around. WRONG. I was fine until I hit the other side of the block and ran into a HUGE apartment party. I'll never forget the comments from the balcony (girls voices): -[whisper]- Oh my god. Look. -[then yell]- YEAH!!!!!!

Okay, this is my most recent, in fact just yesterday... I took my car in to have the oil changed. When they were done they handed over the keys but neglected to tell me where the car was at. I walked out and saw the same model as mine in the lot in front of the dealer showroom and dealer shop entrance. I proceeded to get in the car and was amazed that they had left the protectors on the floor and there was this nice little stuffed animal in the beverage holder (and it wasn't one of my kids' animals)...it only took me about 2 minutes and trying to put my key in the ignition before I realized it wasn't my car! Sad part of this is that there are supposedly no other vehicles the same color as mine in town (at least that was the case when I bought it a few months ago)!

A few years ago, I was in charge of the money room at our local airshow. After cleaning up the whole mess for the day (two day show), I was the last one to leave. A West Texas/Eastern NM rainshower had just come through (which, for all of you non-water challenged states, means only the top 1/16 of an inch of dirt was wet). I was walking to my car when I slipped on the wet grass. Landed flat on my back, like something out of the cartoons. I quickly jumped up, looked around and didn't see a soul. I was so relieved.
A few days later I was eating lunch in a restaurant owned by a friend. He came to the table to say hello, then just before he walked away, he leaned down and whispered, "I saw your little acrobatic routine at the airshow." I was so embarrassed. Of course, then I had to tell everyone at the table why my face was suddenly bright red.
(does that make you feel better, Maria?)

I have one that happened at the bank... Back when I was a Customer Service Rep, I handled most of the incoming telephone calls. Once, while assisting a frequent caller, a co-worker passed me a phone message to call my husband. Immediately my brain switched to the pleasant thought of conversing with my man, and I ending my current, customer call with "Bye, I love you." Boy, there just wasn't any easy way to explain my way out of that one.

Thanks guys, that's a little better. Here's another one to keep this rolling (yeah, I got a million of them): The ladies will particularly understand. Normally, I wear lined suits to work, thereby avoiding the whole "slip issue" But I found this really cute dress and thought I'd brighten my day by wearing it to the office. So, off I go, merrily climbing the outside steps to my office, and my slip falls down to my ankles. The maintenance guy was outside watering the flowers...He was always very complimentary to me. I thought I'd die! I thought he was going to die, too!

You know, I have to say, I am sorry that no one else has the "gumption" to tell an embarrassing story about themselves. I bared my soul to BOL and... nothing but anonymouses and friend's stories... boo hoo!
Ok.....I've got one. ....About 4 years ago, I was on my way back from lunch. There was major construction in our parking lot, so we had to park in a lot across the street from the bank. This also happened to be the drive through bank as well.
I thought that I'd be kind and stop over to pick up the work to transport it back to the bank. I was with a co-worker,. we were talking and we began across the street. Somehow or another, when I stepped up onto the curb, I stumbled for what seemed like an eternity ....then I fell, split my skirt, broke my glasses, tore my stockings to pieces .....I was bleeding...face, mouth, knees, hands....I looked like I had been in a wreck....... It was high noon and our small town had bumper to bumper traffic watching me try to pick myself up..It also happened to be the first of the month, and I think that those not on Main Street were parked at our drive through...Some people were actually turned around in their cars to watch the show. ......My co-worker was no help....She couldn't stop laughing.....I was so embarrased....I think that I just sprung up like nothing happened. But I ended up missing a couple of days of work. I could hardly walk... When I did return to work, I had people visiting my office just to see "the wreck".....Again I was very embarrassed.
But in all of this I never dropped any of the work that I was bringing to the bank........
Oh this isn't the only time that I have fallen at work. I've had the luck of having the same co-worker around both time and believe me she doesn't miss a time of telling the story to anyone who wants to listen.....

I have already relayed a story that happened to me, so I think I can share a story about something that happened to a coworker. We had a female branch manager who was shopping at a department store and she said she felt something on her foot. When she looked down she found that a pair of her underwear had "clung" to the inside of her slacks in the laundry and had fallen out the bottom of her pant leg. She was horrified and reached dowm and grabbed them, quickly shoving them into her purse. The she got to thinking that she might be on surveilance and that the store may think that she was shoplifting so she shoved them on a shelf behind the toasters in the appliance isle and quickly left the store!

Ok here is One that happened at the bank where I used to work, that was in 1997 – I think - it was early Morning around 8.15 am, I was heading Out of the section at The bank, I was walking fast – storming out like a tornado! – I didn’t pay attention when I walked outside that Door – which is always open and turned to left direction when Booooom –a female co worker was coming and it was like two cars Pumped into each Other! Her Face hit my left shoulder! , We apologized, laughed and walked away. When I came back, some of My coworkers were smiling at me, I said to My self: well, it seems every one is Happy today………….so Let it be , Later On Customers started walking in the branch, they were an Old couple in addition to a friend of Mine who was an Egyptian air hostess working with Royal Jordanian airlines. The sir Hostess said: Hus…. you Must be in a real good Mood today! I replied: I am always in a good Mood in the Morning, she replied Back: Ohh Dear I can see that! , I didn’t understand what she was hinting at! , The Old Man asked me: Son, are you newly Married! I said: Excuse me? , He said: Take it easy son…………….red Lipstick is all Over your white shirt Collar! I knew now why every One was smiling, it seems when I pumped into that coworker, and her Lipstick –which was so fresh in the Morning – was stamped on my white collar Shirt! And you Can Just Imagine How embarrassing was that

Hussam - Just wondering,Did your wife or girlfriend accept the "accident" for how you got lipstick on your collar? That would be embarrassing! (You really don't have to answer, your post was funny.)

Maria here's more for you.
I also wore one blue and one black shoe to work. That was funny but the really bad thing is they were different heights.
I've also worn 2 diff earrings, a sweater backwards, buttoned my blouse wrong, etc., etc.
Of course I also had one of my friends come to work w/ a lovely green tint to her color treated hair. She hadn't noticed until we pointed it out to her. Needless to say, she left early for the day and promptly went to the hair salon.

My most embarrassing moment occurred a couple of years ago on a beautiful Sunday morning. I had been to the restroom before going into the church sanctuary, and everyone was standing to sing the first hymn as I walked down the center isle. The church was full, the sun was shining, everyone was smiling broadly - a lovely morning. Because the church was so full, I didn't find a spot until I was near the front. I greeted everyone around me, and all the little old ladies graciously smiled back. I continued singing for 3 more verses of the hymn and suddenly a friend's HUSBAND scooted up behind me and yanked my skirt out of the top of my pantyhose - I had mooned the entire (Baptist) church. Afterwards I asked the little ladies why they didn't tell me. Their reply? They didn't want to embarrass me!! Go figure-
