We are a small community bank and we need to come up with an idea for a bank float. The theme of the parade is "Volunteers make the world go round" Not an easy theme to work with. We are in desperate need of ideas. They don't necessarily have to do with banking and we have a very low budget......

Do people at your bank do volunteer work? Do they have t-shirts from the organizations they work for? When I worked as a teller I did Meals-on-Wheels over my lunch hour. Build a little teller line on your float with them in their t-shirts helping customers in shirts from other groups that serve your community. You could have the bank president giving blood to the Red Cross too.

Flat bed wagon pulled by a tractor, with different people dressed up as volunteers....working at a soup kitchen, volunteering in school, helping at church, etc. Find out what the employees volunteer at and represent those possibly.

What about having bank employees representing different volunteer opportunities or community organizations (t-shirts, signs, etc.) standing in a circle around a big globe?

Maybe you can do a little self promotion with something like "Lending a Hand" or "Supporting the Community" since...
This is a hard theme...I keep thinking about CRA. LOL

Something that I saw that seemed to get the crowd going was a group dressed up as life guard and four poles on a flatbed. But, this wasn't a typical parade, so I doubt it's a good idea.
