I'm finishing up a reread of Jim Butcher's "Harry Dresden" series, but have no idea what I'll move on to next. I recently read one of Yasmine Galenorn's "Chintz & China" cozies - it was cute, short, and fun - so I may pick up another one or two of those. Not sure yet. OH, and the new Victoria Laurie "Phsychic Eye" mystery should be out this week!

In the house we bought this summer, we discovered several old cook books from the 50's and 60's that fell behind a cupboard.
It has been fun reading them as so many things are not prepared like this today, the money saving 'tips' are long lost common sense, and they create full balanced meals on a tight budget.
The narrative is the best though! Advice on how to please you family, amaze your guests, how to stretch the meal when your beloved husband brings the boss home with him and forgot to tell you, and how to give 'your man' and task to do so he is 'out of your way, and yet can feel he contributed, and feel good about himself!'!
They are just a riot to read!!!

In the house we bought this summer, we discovered several old cook books from the 50's and 60's that fell behind a cupboard.
It has been fun reading them as so many things are not prepared like this today, the money saving 'tips' are long lost common sense, and they create full balanced meals on a tight budget.
The narrative is the best though! Advice on how to please you family, amaze your guests, how to stretch the meal when your beloved husband brings the boss home with him and forgot to tell you, and how to give 'your man' and task to do so he is 'out of your way, and yet can feel he contributed, and feel good about himself!'!
They are just a riot to read!!! LOL! JJ...I found the same ones in my mom's collection after she passed away...really neat to read the housewives creed of yesteryear...blleeecckkk... make sure to remove his shoes and rub his feet, while supper awaits on the table, devinely inviting with sumptious aromas...blahdy blah...yeah right...fend for yourself honey!  what was that show...Father Knows Best? It reminded me of that era.

My Grandmother always made jello molds with fruit in them. I can't even look at Jello today!
Reading "The Quiet Game" by Greg Iles. Picked it up in the Bank's lending library. Pretty good so far.

Finally. Finally! FINALLY!! I can read White Witch Black Curse, Kim Harrison's latest book. It finally came out in paperback today! I have been waiting forever!!!
Dang, now that I think about it, I should have read book 6 again so I know what the heck is going on. Shoot!

I just got James Patterson's latest Alex Cross book in the mail yesteday. I can't wait to start it. No other author on this one-just Patterson. I hope its good.
Isn't it about time for another Janet Evanovich-Stephanie Plum book?

I haven't read any of the Stephanie Plum books yet but I see that they are loved by many. I am going to have to check them out now that I have my Kindle.
