My first two driver's license didn't have pictures on them - does that qualify me as old enough? If not, I actually saw the original Grease on Broadway, when it still held the record as longest running Broadway show (before Chorus Line broke their record - saw that one, too). That was ancient history by the time the movie came out.

So, what do you stock for honey-wheat beers?

Okay Z, challenge time...name 2 bands that Stevie Ray played in before the Thunderbirds, and I'm not talking about Triple Threat Revue. I'll buy for the day if you can give me the name of his wife.

dpersfull--Most of your story checks out, but I have never heard of the Beetles, so I don't know how old you might be--unless of course, you are talking about the VW. Maybe, you meant the Beatles

Actually I did mean the Beatles (hey I had a late night last night). But I also remember the VW Beetles (my Grandfather had a red 1965 Beetle).

I also remember the Nixon - Kennedy debates and I was in the 7th grade when Kennedy was assassinated.

Now, may I please have what we call a Red Eye, Beer and Tomato Juice?

Skittles is in.

CubDave is in.

stloco is in.

DEL is in.

madams is in. She is young, but obviously over 21.

Well, I don't drink much, but I would like to join the party. Diet Coke for me.

I remember my family and I driving down the Interstate late one night, listening to a news report about the national speed limit being set at 55. I vividly remember thinking that we'd never get anywhere at that slow speed! And I was right!!

Will that suffice as my ID?

The other band was the Nightcrawlers, his wife was named Lenora Baily (Lenny), and the lead singer for Triple Threat was Lou Ann Barton. How'd I do? New challenge, what movie did Stevie appear in?

I remember when people had to choose either Beta or VHS and before that 8 Track or Cassette. I also remember the debut of MTV. Does that get me in?

It happened two weeks after my 34th birthday while I was working in a Florida bank. (July 11, 1979) Is that good enough?

I still have three weeks vacation to take, so I am going to be taking a lot of half days! (Ok, I know, nor bragging) - give me the micropohone, MC, but I would prefer "Heartbeat It's a Lovebeat" by the DeFranco Family please.

I had a poster of Tony DeFranco on my wall when I was in Jr. High - that definitely should prove my age. Dave, would you please sing "Save the Last Dance for Me"? And, the bear's name on Captain Kangaroo was "Dancing Bear."

Between the lines
I remember where I was when Kennedy was shot (Houston) and I remember that all that news coverage was interrupting my cartoons. I was already in banking when the Challenger disaster happened. I loved American Bandstand and that Rockin Robin thing was almost as annoying as "Gimme that Thing" Great, now that's going to be in my head all day.

How's that?? Mimosas sounds great and some of those spicey wontons. Might as well start early since I'm off this afternoon. EGB is this seat taken?

Thanks, Dan - we'll have to make it a diet rootbeer though; I've got a long drive ahead of me later today and I don't want to get myself into trouble.

I guess I'm a little late getting here. For proof of age, I was just starting school when Kennedy was shot. It was a Catholic school and they sent us home early. At my age all I understood was that someone had been shot from a window, so I looked up at all the windows on my way home to make sure that I wouldn't get shot, too.

I'll be a designated driver today, so a "virgin" bloody mary for me, thanks.

Slide on up SoccerMom, and have some spicy wontons, they're yummy. A bit mild, though.

Deena and Lestie G are the designated drivers. Thanks for all the memories. You are all in despite the fact that most of your ID's did not qualify as humorous. Next time, you need to make Tiny laugh--he could really care less if you are actually 21 or older if you just make him laugh.

elena--I am not sure about Stevie in the movies. I may need a hint. BB King was in Adventures in Babysitting, but not Stevie. It would be easy to cheat on imdb.com, but I won't stoop to cheating.

SoccerMom, I'm with ya. Kennedy's funeral is one of my earliest memories. I asked my mom if they did this every time someone died? Young and innocent.

There were cartoons, Sea Hunt (I got Lloyd Bridges autograph on Mt. Fuji) and Superman on TV. And when the new school opened that year, the 2nd grade classroom had speaker box mounted on the wall and if we talked the Principal could hear us. So we knew to keep our mouths shut. (Where was Reg. P when I needed it.)

Hint- the year was 1987, he played himself in the movie, and played the song Pipeline. Speaking of BB King, OMG, I love him too, although the only thing I really know about him is his guitars name, and that he is now a diabetic who doesn't like to hurt BB. If you don't have a copy of Eric Clapton & BB King "Riding with the King" you have to get it.
