We are going to use photos of customer on our website. We are going to have them sign a release giving us permission to use their image. Is there anything else we need to use. Someone told me we needed to compensate them. Is this true.

We have done this and we did not do anything else except the release that we had our attorney draw up. We just ask if someone wanted to and they never got a penny for it.

Sometimes is it a good extra step to give them $1.00 and include this as full compensation in the release.

Our website will also include photos of customers (with their permission and written consent). I have also been asked about including the customers' names (or business names, whatever the customer wants) with their photos, also with their permission. I am hesitant about doing that, but will make absolutely certain that we have obtained the customer's permission.

To compensate those who have "modeled" for us, my bank wants to give them a framed photo of their picture used on our website. Since this would obviously be over a $10 value, does the 1099 requirement kick in?

Any opinions on this??
