Apologies if this has been posted already, but I just saw the headlines for
Bacon Flavored Soda!

Not sure what I think about that....

Yes, Princess, it was posted already.

I did just run across this --

Candied Bacon

8 smoked bacon slices (we slice these very thin from a slab with a slicer)
4 tbsp light brown sugar
1 pinch cayenne pepper

Preheat oven to 325°F
Drag bacon through brown sugar till lightly coated. Arrange on silpat* on sheet pan.
Sprinkle remaining brown sugar and cayenne evenly over slices.
Place another silpat on top and place in oven.
Bake for 15 min, raise oven temp to 375°F and bake for 5 min, check and see if crisp.
Check every min until ready. Be careful because it can burn easily.

Starting low keeps the bacon flat during cooking; otherwise it would ripple.

A silpat is a silicone baking sheet. If you don't have any on hand, you can use parchment paper.

In an excellent example of foresight, Primus released the perfect theme song (track 9) in 1993. smile

Get yourself a can of pork soda
You'll be feeling just fine
Nothin' quite like sittin' 'round the house
Swiggin' down them cans of swine.

Read this today....

http://www.freep.com/article/20101109/NE...ds-center-stage

Snippet:
In the lore of extreme Web food, there may be no bigger star than the turbaconducken.

That's a chicken, inside a duck, inside a turkey, wrapped in a layer of salty, smoky bacon.

The gut-busting creation hit the Web courtesy of bacontoday.com, a food blog specializing in often extreme creations.

There's even a picture of the creation with the article....not very appetizing looking! sick

Sounds like something right up my alley, AG!

Thanks for posting, PR. There's no such thing as too much bacon coverage.

I have, in a previous life, done both of those things.

My 15 year old daughter who is 5' tall maybe 100 lbs. refuses to eat virtually any meat - except for bacon. Yes, I have seen her eat an entire pound of bacon for a meal.

My niece who is 6, will eat a pound of bacon without blinking an eye. But, she eats no other meat!

Apparently Farmer John's has decided that the Bacon Wrapped Hot Dog is now the "Official" Hot Dog of Los Angeles.

Website shows how to make one:

peanut butter and bacon on white bread is a sunday morning staple for me...
