My employer is encouraging me to create a personal finance and budgeting course to teach at local employers to aid their employees to make better financial choices.

I don't really see how we could get CRA credit for this because there is really no way to tell if the people are low- mod-income individuals.

Thoughts?

So Cal
I think the issue of determining whether the people are low or mod income is the challenge here. Are the employers' businesses located in LMI tracts? Is there a way to determine the typical salary of individuals who work in the industry in which those employers engage?

I'm almost positive that we don't have any LMI tracts near us (is there a site I can find that information)?

Bee, your county, city or local Chamber of Commerce may have information about the wages that are typically paid for the positions available at the employer that you are thinking of.

You could also try contacting the human resources department and they might be helpful with supplying you the information on how many employees they have making under $xx,xxx. $x being 80 percent of median in your area.

Oh, and go to the FFIEC website for information on tract income.

http://www.ffiec.gov/geocode/default.aspx

Start with gecoding the address where the business is located.

Or go here to look up the tract income levels for the whole county:
