Just wondering if anyone in PA has recently been thru an FDIC Compliance exam. If so, what were the hot buttons? We're due for our first exam as an FDIC bank and we expect their focus to be different than the OCC's. What topics did they concentrate on? Any advice??????? (Other than run like [censored]...?)

HMDA, HMDA, HMDA, Flood, Fair Lending are covered in detail currently in PA by FDIC.

FDIC is also (everywhere) looking for regulatory procedures regardless of size of bank, even with automated systems. Staff needs resource as to when and why.

UDAP is a really big issue with the examiners in our area. If you have any non-traditional products or services at all, make sure you have everthing in place so that your customers cannot be confused how the product or services works. This also may fall under Regulation DD, Truth in Savings Act.

All great information. Thank you. We were a bit surprised at the depth to which they looked at Reg GG/UIGEA during the Safety & Soundness exam last month. It was new to them and they obviously didn't have a good grasp on what their own exam procedures were looking for. But at the same time our examiner was helpful and provided guidance. We ended up with a stronger policy and a detailed risk assessment.

All that being said, this is what raised our curiosity about the upcoming compliance exam. Hopefully we'll get even more input from other banks here. Thanks again!
