We have a customer that is out of state and wants to redeem a CD via phone/fax. We have the original in safekeeping. Any suggestions on procedure to make sure we are dotting all I's and crossing ts?

Send a cashier's check for the amount due payable to the name or names on the CD and sent to the address in your files.

The customer is requesting wire of funds to another FI. We are asking for a notorized signature as proof. Customer is stating there are no notaries avail. This is a jumbo CD so we do not want to miss anything.

Have the receiving instruction send the request with her authorization.

While I have not seen this in a in some time, it was a common practice, before Bank’s began to charge for the service.

When I was a teenager and I changed banks, the new bank would contact the old bank and request the account be transferred. Am I showing my age?
