I'm trying to locate guidance on Rapid Rescore fees. I understand that FCRA 611(a)(1)(A) states a consumer cannot be changed for disputing items of information on their credit report. However if we have a borrower that pays down some credit accounts and wants a rescore to try to bring up the credit score, that is not technically a dispute, rather an update they don't want to wait for. Under these circumstances, could the rapid rescore fee be passed on to the consumer? If so, is that an appropriate item to trigger a changed circumstance form thus adjusting the fees to the borrower?

Bump - I am also looking for this information.
In the case that the customer doesn't want to deal with the bureaus directly, they can go through our credit vendor (Old Republic) for 1-line updates or a full Rapid Rescore where the lines are all updated and a new score is generated. It's an expediated process - the 1 liners are cheap ($10, I believe) but the Rapid Rescore gets spendy - we currently have a $200 invoice for one.
Any direction would be appreciated. Thank you!

Whether or not any fee can be charged to a customer is a matter of State law and not Federal regulation.

I have a similar question about Rapid Rescore. I agree we cannot charge for correcting disputed information, since it would be a violation FCRA. However, is it a violation of RESPA to charge the fee if the purpose for obtaining the Rapid Rescore is to update paid off accounts, which would allow the borrower better pricing?
