The examiners are here!
Several of our census tracts have been absorbed into other census tracts. Is there any way that I can figure out exactly which ones they went into?

You need an updated assessment area map.

Assuming that tract xxxx.xx is now tract yyyy.yy will not work, as the tract boundary's were also changed in many cases. Its also possibe thet the boundary didn't change but the numbering system did.

Take a look at the maps the census burea has on American Fact Finder.

You should regeocode the addresses and get the new tract numbers

Thanks Don, I started doing that (remapping), but like you said, you make an aweful lot of boundary assumptions. In one case, for instance, it looks like 2 tracts became 5. Ick.

Are you talking about tracts which changed from 1990 to 2000 or tracts which changed after 2000?
