I'm still plugging along also, but only doing the minimum at this point due to Pup-like issues. You mean everyone doesn't hear a clicking sound when they do these?

I'm not that mean! Although I'll also toss out that dad is only 5'6" and weighs a pretty lean 156 lbs. Mom is only 4'10", but she's the scary one! Moms are always the scary one!!!

I hear all kinds of strange things myself and just choose to ignore them! I get a nice pain in my elbow from time to time and just have to move things around until I stop feeling it. Me on a bike can be amusing too, my hips, knees and one of my ankles pop pretty frequently...it's only an annoyance at least and not an actual discomfort. And B^3, I'll be happy to survive this year at all! Next year...that's way to far away to plan for. But what I do know is that this will have us all in good shape for the zombie apocalypse scheduled for the end of this year!

There are four flights of stairs between me and the break room, water, coffee etc. I am down there a few times during the day. When I first started working here, my knee used to crack up the stairs, every stair. I have since lost 7 pounds and my knee does not crack any more. Its amazing what weight loss can help you do.

All of you that say that you are "plugging along" or just hanging in there, how much were you doing 4 weeks ago? You are doing great people! You are doing something that 90% of the population doesnt even try to do! Keep it up and you will be very pleased!!!! Fixed

^^^^ exactly why I am GOING to find a way to keep going. Honestly, I think that if I can just make it through February, the extra time I have that I can begin to dedicate to cardio and other exercises (considering Kempo Karate twice a week), my overall fitness level and potential weight loss will make the pushups much easier and probably become just another exercise rather than my only focus. So there! :flicks hair, turns, and flounces out of the thread: Fixed First of all, I seldom "flounce".

Bec,
I'd be willing to bet also that your leg muscles and core have strengthened as well. I have bad knees (elbows, wrists, shoulders, etc). Years ago, I couldn't run at all. I began riding a mountain bike a few times a week, and that strengthened everything to the point that i could again run a few miles. I am looking forward to that again.
Yes, my knees hurt when I take the stairs. Moreso when I'm going down the steps, actually. That is awesome. I would imagine muscle/core strength would play a part. I am encouraged by your success. It is hard to start and to keep going sometimes but when little changes start happening like one less joint cracking or being able to run a little bit when it was impossible before is just what this is all about!!!

Fixed 4 weeks ago, even 4 months ago (no lie) I was trying to get my booty out of bed at 6:00 to exercise. Now for the last 3 weeks I have been up before 5 to do just that. Everyone here is doing so fantastic that it encourages me to keep it up. Hopefully I can do the same for you. Just take it one push up at a time. I feel kinda wimpy when I see how some of you can do your sets all at once. I have been breaking them into 3, but now I don't feel wimpy, I feel empowered because everyone is doing it, one way or another. We are quite a group!

I think twinkies are the appropriate lure actually...
And I sincerely hope you had to look all the rules up! If not...well, I hope we end up in the same amusement park some day. Also, if you kill Bill Murray, I'll kill you.

The rules are easy, I recite them as I do pushups! I promise to double check Murray before I double tap! Really would like to have one of those mare's legs that Harrilson carries in the movie!

Bec, you really have no idea what a positive influence you are having on others! You are inspiring all of us, sure! But I guarantee that there is someone that you see everyday, that you are influencing in a positive way! You may or may not ever know it, but i guarantee it is happening! This is true for all of you. Whether you planned on it or not, you are role models!

Be careful if your exercise equipment poops in the hallway.... Biggest issue I see with this, it's now lighter and you won't get a proper workout! Better beef that pooch back up and quick!
