A prayer for all the victims in Aurora CO. How very sad.

Prayers for the wounded, the families of the dead, and all those folks who were terrorized in the theatre.

Hopefully he was working alone, but if not, prayers that law enforcment will soon capture any accomplice.

Lots of prayers from Oklahoma. I know they are one everyones minds as we hear more and more horror stories about what happened.

Reading the accounts of the story gives me chills...

Thinking of those involved.

What is our world coming to when you can't even go to the movies without fear of someone opening fire on innocent people. I can't imagine what the victims and their families must be going through. They are in my thoughts and prayers this morning.

They said the mother was sure they had the right person - if she thought he was capable of something so horrific why didn't she get him help?

I'm frankly amazed that he survived. So many of these guys want to go out in a hail of bullets.....
I feel so horrible for all those people. And for the officer that had to carry out a 6 year old. How do you get that out of your head....ever?

From what I read, the mother is in San Diego. Suspect is a 24 year old adult. Not sure what the options are.

I didn't realize she lived in another state. Did the 6 year old pass away or was he just injured? I can't imagine what the parents must be going through if they weren't killed in the attack. It is just heartbreaking.

Absolutely heartbreaking.

While my prayers are with the victims and their families: on a separate note what are kids aged 3 months, 6, 9, etc. doing at a MIDNIGHT showing of a PG-13 movie? This is in no way meant to minimize the vileness of this act or the suffering of the victims but it does make me wonder what the parents were thinking.

Selfishness.

They either couldn't afford or couldn't find a babysitter and wanted to see the movie too badly to wait until they could. Happens all too often.

What parent would have the energy to see a midnight showing of any movie with a 3 month old.

The same thought crossed my mind ... why would such young children not be in bed, and what are they doing at a PG-13 movie. It's just so sad! If the parents survived, I can't imagine the guilt.

Prayers of support and comfort to all affected by this terrible tragedy.

Another senseless tragedy. On a personal note, i feel a little weird now knowing i have hotel reservations 20 minutes from Aurora starting Monday night.

Saw a post on Facebook from a friend of mine that lives in the Aurora area, he had planned to be there but ended up having something else going on so couldn't go with the group of people he was planning to. Two of his friends were injured, but all survived.

I can't even imagine. The story is just sickening.

They interviewed the Chief of police this morning and he was horribly emotional. It finally came out that his daughter was in the theater when the call came in. Can there be a greater fear than konwing your child is in a theater with a mad man shooting people? All in all, I'd say he did pretty dam good!

Clarification on what the suspect's mother said. Having dealt with reporters, I know firsthand how often they mess up the facts. What a mess.

Reporters will write anything for a story. Calling at 5:45 they should be asamed of themself.

5:45 in California was 6:45 in Colorado, but still...that's not the right time to seek "information". Law enforcement, I believe, should have made that call in order to break the news to the parents and get them involved to the extent that they need them to be involved before they see it on the news.
