I knew a guy from NJ once. He did a great chicken dance on top of a barrel. BIG. GUY...surprised he could get on TOP of the barrel! (World Show Barrel Racing...just to eliminate some of the WTH's I'm sure the above comment would bring )

Wait. So all you RR gals are single and living alone? I'm starting to think the RR stands for something other than "Royal Rider." We probably fit the title of "Rough Riders" better than "Royal"...not one of us is exactly "faint of heart" or afraid to shoot a gun. Wait. RR doesn't stand for "Raunch Readers"? It stands for a lot of things.

That was hilarious.

I finished the first "Divorced and Desparate" book last night and started the second one. These are cute. I liked them too. They were a pretty easy read.

I'm reading Deborah Harkness' Shadow of Night, the second of a trilogy. First book was 'A Discovery of Witches'. Anyone else read the first book? TB - what do you think about this one? I'm having a little trouble getting thru the beginning. How many characters do you need to start a book? Sheesh! I really hope it gets better soon because so far I'm not happy that I paid $12.99 for this.

Okie, stick with it....it starts out slow, but each of those characters is pivotal....I have finished the book and am salivating for the final installment...who knows how long it will be before it comes out!!!!

Thanks TB. I will stick with it. I liked the first too much to give up yet anyway.

Linda Urbach, Madame Bovary's Daughter - good for women's book clubs, would have some interesting research projects to do, such as - how would a Victorian-era woman have an independent career?

So far, so good. An interesting story about how tough it is to make it in the world of haute cuisine.

If you like Ted Dekker, try, This Present Darkness by Frank Peretti, if you haven't already. For ladies that like Christian fiction, the SisterChick's series by Robin Jones Gunn is an easy, light read and just delightful.

I also suggest Rick Bragg's All Over But the Shoutin' and Ava's Man. These are not Christian fiction but they are such good reading. Also, The Secret Life of Bees. And if you want fun easy reading that will give you a laugh (that even Bill Clinton enjoyed--not that that is a plus)read the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. First one is One for the Money, second is two for the Dough, etc. up to about eighteen books I think.

JCM CRA - You are preaching to the choir, with this bunch, talking about the Plum series. Many of us are huge Joe/Ranger, I mean Plum fans.
