I have a loan to a small business which is secured by commercial real estate for the purpose of replacing the roof of the building. The note date is in February and it is interest only payments for 6 months, at which time it converts to principle and interest (September of same year). It is originally booked under call code 01A2 and then converts to 01E1. 01A2 is not reportable under CRA, but 01E1 is. Can and should this loan be reported under CRA?

If it does convert as scheduled in September, yes you should report for CRA. If it delayed and converts in January, report it in 2013.
