I was wondering if I could pick your brains for some good examples of the following for training purposes:

Check to ACH conversion
&
Check to ACH substitution

Thanks, all!

The Federal Trade Commission website has a e-check check conversion handout under the consumer/credit area. I printed it out for customers who were questioning what was happening with there checks. It is very helpful and may give you some ideas on training.

This is an FTC document I believe referenced above. It is good for consumers as well as bankers assisting consumers.

While at the FTC site you may find other useful tidbits, but I am not familiar with ACH substitution.

I suspect "substitution" in this case refers to the RCK entry, which substitutes an ACH debit for a bounced check.

The NACHA.org site has a document that does a nice comparison among ACH/ARC, Check 21 and Image Exchange.

Thanks Bill, I have been browsing their site since yesterday. Lots of cool stuff! (Only a compliance officer would think that it's cool!)

Ken,
Thanks for providing the link. I guess I should have done that but will have to learn how to embed it.
