I noticed that the MSL for the SAFE Act includes the following provision:

MSL XX.XXX.210 UNIQUE IDENTIFIER SHOWN—The unique identifier of any person originating a residential mortgage loan shall be clearly shown on all residential mortgage loan application forms, solicitations or advertisements, including business cards or websites, and any other documents as established by rule, regulation or order of the Commissioner.

However, I believe it also includes an exemption for MLOs at regulated entities such as banks.

So, is inclusion of the NMLS number on a biz card just optional for bank MLOs? I realize its probably a best practice but am just curious at this point. Also, why do we need a model state law if we already have the Act?

Thanks!
