Does anyone have any search criteria on identifying clients that could potentially own an ATM other than asking the question outright when they open the relationship?

Bi-Annually I have my operations department work their report magic for me and scan all ACH credit transactions looking for the names of ATM processors that I know of. Then I go through the accounts and look to see if I already have them flagged as a Private ATM owner or not and for any new ones I start digging deeper. If your state (like mine) requires non-bank ATM owners to register you could start there.

We conduct a periodic scrub through our automated AML system of ACH transactions containing certain words/groups of words (triggers) to identify potential MSB's and businesses with ATM's. As mentioned earlier we also review our state's lists of licensed MSB's.

Depending on the size of your bank and the location of your customers, the relationship manager could make a visit to the business. Ours do to see how the relationship is going and if there are any additional services we provide
