Scenario: A customer comes into the bank and an application is completed - we credit score the customer [we do not have a preapproval program]and they are approved. We still need to verify tax returns and request that they be provided. We never see the information requested and the customer never contacts us again.
My question is - is this a [1]declined because he did not supply the information need; [2]approved not accepted since his credit score states approved or [3] incomplete because credit scoring is contingent and we did not get the information needed?

Thoughts? We have discussed this and cannot agree 100% on this.

Based on the post I have to assume the information was requested verbally and not by a written notice of incompleteness. If that assumption is correct you have a denial for an incomplete application.

If you did provide a written NOI then you have a closed for incompleteness.
