I have a question regarding the collection of data for CRA loans. We are currently not required to submit for CRA but will probably meet the mark within the next year or two so we are already collecting data so that we will be "prepared" when we are required to report.

My question is how are other banks collecting the data that has to be input in the FFIEC CRA Data Software. I have created a log of sorts that details loan amount, loan type, etc. Hopefully some of you will be willing to share your process. I appreciate your time! Thanks!

I'm having to revise our program, so I would also find that information helpful.

Can you set up a report (download to Excel or csv file) with your loans with Call Report classification? That will be an immense help to you to gather your data. For example, your small business loans will come from loans that are coded as non-farm non-residential real estate (owner occupied and non-owner occupied) that are on lines 1e1 and 1e2 of Schedule RC-C1 and the commercial and industrial loans that are on line 4a of the same schedule. That will identify the loans originated in the time period you are working on. You will need addresses, geocoding if in your system, and origination amounts; for lines (revolving and draw) you will need the note amount not the balance.

You may need some manual processes to identify the necessary information for refinances and renewals and modifications.
