Cedar Rapids, IA,
Must we by Iowa law give customers a minimum number of days notice when changing the time we close on Friday night from 5:30 to 5:00 and when we will open on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:00? If so, what is the applicable code section?

I am not aware of any requirement in the Iowa Code regarding notification to customers when business hours change. If there were such a requirement I would think it would be in Section 524.

If we were considering this, I would recommend that notice be posted at the bank (both in the lobby and at the drive through) 30 days prior to the effective date.

You may want to run this question by legal counsel just to be sure.
