I just found out I bronze metaled at my 10k Saturday, in my age division! Too bad there were only four of us to begin with, but hey, it's the first time I've metaled at anything since high school.

It was a horrible run though, so if I had the metal, I'd just be disgusted by it. Even the t-shirt will probably never see the light of day again. It was my first 10k, and it was all on grass, which I wasn't expecting. Learning experience I guess, running cross-country style is not like riding a bike. Well, maybe it's like riding a bike on grass? I don't know.

Will they mail you the metal medal?

Are you mocking me?? It was clearly my subconscious refusing to admit that it was a piece of recognition, and only perceiving it as a chunk of metal.

I doubt they mail it, if they do, I'll melt it down, forge it into a ball and chain, and drag it around attached to my ankle!

I ran my first 10K on Saturday the 8th, and I didn't come close to a medal, but I was very happy with my time, and I felt good through the whole run. I just wanted to be under 60 min, and ran in 56:21. I think the winnner in my age group ran it in 42 something. When guys 55 and over run in 42 minutes, they should have to give a urine sample.

Brain, I hate to say it, but most of the 10K's I'm in, the winner of the 55-59 Div is in 42-43 range. I'm 55:00-56:00 range usually myself. There are a lot of fast Old fahrts out there.

I was around 55:10, but I expected a lot more from myself. I don't know that it could've gone worse, unless I hurt myself!

It was good motivation at the gym on Sunday, but I'm paying for that still! I think it was the Arnold presses that did me in. Ouch!

I did those on Saturday after the race. They will wake up the pecs nicely. I like to mix them up with Dumbbell rows. Good isolators but you can still use a fair amount of weight.
