Our vendor has recommended using the date that we last contacted our dormant customer about any account as the "last date of contact" for dormant account purposes. Example CIF ties all accounts and use the date of last contact for all accounts. Will this work?

I think that the way that the TN law reads, if you send mail to the owner of a dormant account, and the mail is not returned to you, you are presumed to have made contact; therefore, the account is not considered "abandoned" and consequently is not subject to escheatment.
