Does that mean my mom was lying when she said "I'm going to slap you into next week"?

Also, I totally have the power to slaw you from the past. Don't test me! I modified a t-shirt cannon, I'm pretty sure I could lob a ball of it to Oklahoma if I needed to!

My mama slapped me into next week so many times we now live in different time zones.

Moms are the exception. I once slapped mine into the next county.

Ooops...no. My kiddo. He spit on me. It was a reflexive action on my part.

Mom wasnt a slapper, she was a switcher. Dad used a paddle.
I used the paddle on on mine. And occaisionally used the ever popular "squeeze the arm while whisper like a psycho in your ear" technique.

We called that the "church pinch."

yep. Mine new $h!t just got real when I grabbed an ear or arm and started whispering.

Sometimes I can still hear my mom as she leaned over and whispered to me during church, "Just wait til we get home". ::gulp::

Whatever y'all do, don't take your shoe off and beat them. A lady here was just convicted of death by shoe (stilleto I think).

We never had anything physical when I was a kid. There was just "the look." It has been passed down from one generation to the next, and has worked on each generation. I think when I gave birth to my first child, I was then just miraculously able to perform "the look" and it has also worked on my children!

Similar to the church pinch, but instead it was more like the "church crush".
And yeah, the kids would always tell their friends, "as long as he's making noise its ok, but when he gets quiet.... "

My dad could do "the look". Mom, no way. I was unable to master it.

My kids and dogs all feared the wooden spoon! The best part is that I never had to hit them with it. I only had to break a few on the kitchen counter for them to realize what it would do to them. My oldest dog used to run upstairs and slide under the bed. We used to have to coax her out with a treat.

Alas, now, my big brats just laugh when I get, then laugh harder when I hit them with it. Brats!

I love brats simmered in beer.

Hmmmm. I never tried boiling kids in beer. Does it make them behave better?

My mom used to warn me prior to some fancy schmancy dinner party that if she reached under the table and squeezed (cut my circulation off) my knee under the table...to STOP WHATEVER I WAS DOING.

Well, we were at this dinner party and this one lady with big hair and blue eyeshadow all the way up to her eyebrows was sitting across from me. I staired. I wanted to say something...and I finally did...

I asked that lady why she had blue moons over her eyes and that if my mom reached under the table and squeezed her knee....OWWWWWWWWWWWWW. Yep. It hurt.

Apparently...that's exactly who popped into my memory bank!

I love reading all these recent articles about trains being restored. I would love to take a train ride across country! How fun would that be?
