Longtime Browns fan here (yes, I admit it). I was hoping they would pick up Watkins, but I liked the trade for the extra first rounder next year. I really was hoping they would pass over Manziel. I just don't know how he is going to do in the AFC North. Four outdoor stadiums that can be brutal in the winter. I don't like the way he swings the ball around when he runs, he's gonna get it knocked loose. I know the SEC is fast, but the NFL is faster and we'll see if he can survive some of the hits he's gonna take. He better learn to slide.

and even the weather channel was getting in on the draft today. Did an analysis of average game day temps JF has played in during his long career in Texas versus the average temps in Cleveland, which is 48 during football season. Showed how the trajectory of the ball is altered in cooler weather, how he will need a higher arc to attain distance, and basically summed up he would not be very successful because of his smaller stature... he does not need to worry about the cool weather. If lucky he will be the guy with the headset (keeping his ears warm) on running around on the sidelines with a clipboard that the other players ignore.

If i were Manziel I think I'd just stay in school. Even without eligibility. Like, just focus on my studies. Try the NFL again next year.
Texans almost got Clowney AND Bridgewater. Now the top QB is Derek Carr. Which is hilarious to me.

Kurt Warner? - Come on that one should be really easy since he didn't even play in the NFL for the longest time. maybe it should, but you muffed it* *considered a draft pick coming from NFL Europe, so a small technicality in regards to the original question

He wanted to be a pro now here is his shot. Time for him to start acting like one and stop waving his money hands. Except technically he was a pro before.

Hmmm I just went and checked all the last Super Bowl MVPs from current until Kurt Warner and cannot find an undrafted MVP besides him. If you are thinking of the Super Bowl MVP from the Seahawks this year he was a 7th round pick. So he was selected in the draft.

First time he is laid flat in the back field, the defender should stand over him and do the make it "rain money" on him.

A little morning trivia - Name the last undrafted player that was a superbowl MVP winner... Happy your question was about the Superbowl MVP. Warren Moon never won a super bowl. So I believe Kurt Warner would be the correct answer.

Last undrafted QB to make it to the hall of fame, i apologize, guess i should stick to the real football that i know much better.

You had me thinking I had lost my memory and there was some superbowl I didn't remember so I had to go look up Warren Moon's bio. I have to admit I am not the best football fan but I didn't remember Warren Moon playing in one.

I don't know if there is any way to spin his ridiculous gesture in a way that paints a positive picture.
What is laughable is that ATM people still stick up for him and call other people haters.
I love it. It's entertainment. I love having characters in sports. I want WWF style heroes and villains. The more outlandish the better. If you were to do that, it is possible you would not get drafted ever. Teams barely trust him now. He wanted to be a pro now here is his shot. Time for him to start acting like one and stop waving his money hands. Except technically he was a pro before. In all seriousness, I would like to see someone really test the draft process. Elway and Eli kind of did it, but what if a guy just sat out a year? would he be a free agent? would he have to go through the draft again? Would he be subject to the rookie contracts? Would only work with a super mega stud (if the Collective Bargaining Agreement would even allow it).

Maurice Clarrett kind of did it. He was too young to be in the draft and got kicked out of OSU. He sat out a year then went to the NFL and was a total flop. Probably because he took a year off. I am no expert though, but I have seen people blame his performance on everything under the sun.
But I would think that if JM elected to sit out a year no one would want him next year. What little trust teams have in him now would be lost as would the allure of his supposed athleticism.

I think that's his thing, the money symbol with his hands. I saw a shot of fans doing it too. It's nice to be liked - but it's better, by far, to get paid!

So Russell Wilson was given a 4 year contract extension worth $57mm by Seattle...good move by them.
I expect a protracted salary negotiation by JF where he is going to want much more up front as guaranteed money...Tebow is an example of what can happen without that big committment. be interesting to see how his agent and the team work through that.

So Russell Wilson was given a 4 year contract extension worth $57mm by Seattle...good move by them.. You sure you dont mean Richard Sherman (another one of my favorites). He got the exact same deal a couple days ago and that seems really low for Wilson (i think he gets a lot closer to 20 mil a year) I expect a protracted salary negotiation by JF where he is going to want much more up front as guaranteed money...Tebow is an example of what can happen without that big committment. be interesting to see how his agent and the team work through that nah. NFL rules basically set the rookie contracts. Not much to negotiate.

One of the big winners of the night was Coach Sumlin. 3 picks in the first 22 is not a bad draft night, except he has some holes in the offense to fill.

I don't think Russell Wilson signed an extension. He has popped up in a Microsoft Surface commercial.

so the word today is that the reason why JM was drafted by the browns was because a Hobo told them to do it. Makes sense.
