That would ruin my day, Matt. It takes a couple of hours to reset everything the way I want it- fonts, Excel tool bar, colors. Someone's in big trouble.

It'll all come back...eventually. We have the stupid little virtual desktop things, so it all exists somewhere in our server room, it just needs to be put back together. I'm probably not as high priority as the others who are more customer-facing and need to be fixed first. I can review reports and work on some other stuff at least, unfortunately. Otherwise I'd just call it a day and go home!

Losing the bookmarks is probably the biggest hassle of all. I back up my bookmarks periodically because you never know if your hard drive will decide to crash or what IT has planned for your PC.

Our plans for your PC are released on a need to know basis. That way know one knows that we do not know ahead of time when your PC is going to die.

For some reason people always think we IT people can see the future. I tried to explain the problem with that idea only to hear way to many times. "But your IT."

So now I learned to say nothing till it happens then address it with a "long term plan" ^_-

Well, since we don't have hard drives which can go bad, it's not much of a concern! If the machine dies, it can be swapped out in a matter of 30 seconds and you can move on like it never happened. They have terrible computing speed though, and running something like the security camera software takes everything it's got.

It feels like a Monday - but luckily it's not.

I left 2 hours early Wednesday and put my out of office gretting on both my email and voicemail. I come in today and found I have 3 missed calls from the same person and left a voicemail each time along with an email. Apparently they don't listen to the voicemail.

I think I will wait and see if they call back this morning

It's our bank's long day -- open an hour later this evening than other days, and it's so discouraging having it be dark when we leave the bank. Not a fan of winter. Happily, though, tomorrow is Saturday!

After our first major snow fall I am ready to buy a snow blower. When we moved in I didn't think the driveway was too big and shoveling wouldn't be too much. Well this morning proved me wrong. It was good exercise though!

2 more days and I'll be on my way to New Orleans for a long weekend. So excited to go to New Orleans Comic Con and celebrate my bf's birthday.

Got our first snow fall this morning (6 inches of the light fluffy type). My truck is in the garage, so I borrowed my dad's. Glad I had his, it's a 4x4, made it to work no problems. My truck would have like a bobsled ride.
