I am looking for the reinstatement(the actual passage of law)of recent requirement for Homeownership Counseling requirement. I have seen articles by various Compliance Persons, including Mary Beth's, I need a copy of or reference source of the section where it was reinstated. Does anyone know or have actual section reference?

Public Law 107-73 (HR2620 & S1216), known as the HUD-VA Appropriations Act. Section 205 of the act repealed the sunset provision for homeownership counseling, thus reinstating the requirement.

HUD just released a letter notifying mortgagees that the requirement has been reinstated and is now permanent. It can be found at http://www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/mltrmenu.cfm then select 2002 letters and click on the one for May 23, 2002.

Public Law 107-73 which repeals the section that formerly contained the sunset provision.
