I just told my niece that college students need to organize and protest the cost of text books. It's a racket!!

My favorite is that the e-books aren't that much cheaper!

And the author/prof that requires his book, and the latest edition when all he has done has changed the preface or intro.

Or the prof that requires the latest version of the book but doesn't use it at all. I've had books that weren't cracked the entire semester.

There's a special place in he11 for textbooks sellers.

Anything the government subsidizes gets very expensive.

Look out for community college costs if they become free!!!!!

And they try to sell them back and are offered $5 for a $200 book.

I rented most of my books. The only ones I purchased were Intermediate Accounting and Cost Accounting. I figured I would have to revisit those. Then I got a job doing compliance at a bank and literally use NO accounting skills. Oh well.

I tried to get to the bookstore as soon as I could in order to buy used for my required books as much as possible. Even still I don't think I ever spent more that a couple of hundred on books. Granted, that was 20 years ago. My niece paid $800 for her 1st semester books and almost $500 for this semester.

Outs were rented and included with tuition. I think I ever recall ever buying a book in college.

I'm just so done with this day. Come on 5 o'clock!

I bought/sold almost all of mine online, except for the school/professor specific versions, and most of those I handled via private sale with another student. Everyone is better off that way!

She got $70 on the trade in.
This semester, was $510

I had a couple of semesters where my books were only $500.00 or so... I thought that was pretty cheap. I spent close to $1000.00 on books several semesters.
