Step 1) We are made aware of the petition. At the time of the bankruptcy, the customer is current and has no late payments. The loan type is an overdraft loc (unsecured) and has a balance of approximately $500 with $1,500 still available.

Step 2) Because this account was listed in the bankruptcy, the bank charges off the debt.

Step 3) I'm responsible for reporting to the credit-bureau. Am I correct in saying as of the notification date, we "stop" reporting any/all payment history to the credit bureau including not reporting this account as a charge-off since they filed for protection prior to the charge-off?

As for the comment, I do report has "petitioned for Chapter 7" and when discharged, I will change to "discharged via chapter 7"

Where can I find creditor responsibilities when customers file bankruptcy?

Thanks in advance for any answers.
