If the following fees apply to an account is it still considered "free"? Garnishment /Levy fee, ACH Origination, copies of imaged checks, account closure fees.
One more item: free e-statements are provided with the "free" account, however if the customer chooses to get paper statements we charge $2. Sory but I keep getting conflicting infromation on what "maintenance and activity" is.
Might want to read through this thread, not only does it address your questions, but it also leads to a discussion on other fees that might be attached to a "free" account.

Want2komply, I understand why you are getting conflicting information. I don't think the way you receive a bank statement is maintenance or activity fee. You might receive 10 different answers but I don't think you can call it "free" checking if you dictate how a statement is to be received. An examiner might consider this a UDAAP issue.
