We would like to provide our customers with a notification of hold if we are going to be holding funds with a new account hold. Is it acceptable to use an C-13 notification of hold and type in New Account Hold on the Other line? Can we do the same if it is a case-by-case hold. Just type that into the Other spot?

There is no requirement to give a notice on a new account hold. For a case-by-case hold, you should be using C-16.

A New Account hold is a type of Exception Hold. So if your bank wants to provide a notice (even though it doesn't have to), I'd recommend starting with a model form for exception holds and adding a "New Account" option box.

That sounds cool. I noticed on the website here that there is a custom form that has both a case-by-case hold check box and a new account hold check box. From by the looks of it, you can customize the model forms?
