My 4 yr old apparently didn't close the back door well enough this morning because I got a call from the alarm company, then my neighbor, then the local PD, then the wife. Sirens blaring the whole time.

All while I'm standing in the bathroom.

4 year olds can be so irresponsible sometimes ....

Between it being a Friday and the remodel noise, I'm so ready to blow this popsicle stand!

Same here. We're getting the concrete redone in our drive up and the tear out has been shaking the building all day. Plus I'm leaving in less than an hour... so ready to go!

Had to take an extended lunch just to clear my head.

The weather is perfect outside and the bank is dead. ::stares out window::

This day is like a giant slap in the face to bankers. Everyone in this town seems to be off today. Traffic everywhere and all of the restaurants are packed. And I get to stare down from my lonely ivory tower.

It's been dead quiet here today, too. I don't think anybody expected us to be open. Heck, even my kid's daycare is closed today.

More traffic than normal in the office today - but it's because school is out and the kids are home. Other than that, things are very quiet - the company headquarters are closed so very little internal e-mail and no meetings, just some interactions with customers who are open today. Good day to catch up on things.

Some teachers my wife works with had a party last night and I was the only one who had to come into work today

And people say banker hours are easy.

Enough said!

It is one of those days!

I wish dogs lived forever.

As a rule, we don't keep any dogs dumped on us. But we made an exception a few months ago when an elderly little dog was dumped. She was not in good shape. Her claws were long and curled and I'm fairly sure she was diabetic. I couldn't turn the little thing out to be killed by coyotes or owls. So we let her come inside and stay with us. I knew she'd only be with us for a short time. She bonded with one of my kids and they've been inseparable. Well today is her last day. She's refusing food and water and her back legs are giving out after just a few steps. It's going to be a devastating day when the kid gets home from school and finds her gone. Why do animals come into our lives for such a short time and leave such big holes when they go? Days like this are really hard to be a mom and know that your kids' hearts will be broken and there's nothing I can do to stop it.

Its so hard to go through those time but at least you get that experience, I have learned that there are way too many people who never get the chance to love and be loved by an animal/pet.

Maybe it would be better to take the kid with to say goodbye? Either way it's going to be hard. Thank you for taking her in.

Thank you all. Honestly I'm sad for the loss of the dog because she was a sweetie but I'm utterly heartbroken for my son.

I saw an article that ranked Nic Cage movies from worst to first.

It was a tie, they were all worst

I feel like Nic Cage bashing is just some kind of an odd trend. I don't mind his movies at all. I think he's a fine actor.
