We have recently seen a few IRDs come through our ATMs for deposit. It is rare but it happens. My question though is what if the check was originally presented through the ATM for deposit and we rejected it due to say the payee not being on the account. When we reject the deposit, we send the IRD to the customer explaining why it was rejected. So if the customer receives the IRD and then turns around and redeposit it into the same account at the ATM again, we would reject again, but can we print an IRD of an IRD? Or would we have to retrieve the IRD that was deposited and return to the customer?
