Here's an attempt to add a little levity to these last couple of weeks before FrankenHMDA goes into effect. I hope you all enjoy!
(sing to the tune of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer)
You know TRID and RESPA and BSA and Fair Lending,
HOEPA and TILA and Military Lending.
But do you recall
The most infamous reg change of all?
HMDA, the Horrible Reg Change,
Possibly the worst composed
Piece of regulatory encumbrance
The CFPB has yet imposed.
Compliance folks the nation over
Swore and raved and called it names.
But the Bureau was determined New HMDA
Would go forth to advance its aims.
Dodd-Frank did not add all these
Superfluous data fields.
The Bureau thinks that it’s so bright
And has no compassion for the industry’s plight.
Then how the bankers cursed them,
And wallowed in abject misery.
HMDA, the Horrible Reg Change,
You’ll go down in history!
