Saw a thought-provoking cartoon this morning. It said:

Which one hasn't changed since the days when there weren't school shootings?"

You could probably add to that list the demise of two-parent households and rise of social media instant fame and still be accurate.

Unfortunately at least one arrest has been made, so these are locals that are looking for their 15 minutes.

There are plenty of articles out there linking social media and screen-time to teenage depression. I don't think we realize how social media and the need for instant gratification is completely changing the psyche of our fellow man/youth.

I'm on FB because that's how my gym communicates content, but I absolutely HATE it. If the bank didn't require me to have emails on my phone I would go back to a dumb-phone in a heartbeat.

Why is it that e-mails and phone calls at the end of the day are never good news?

It's even better when the email or phone call is an issue they've known about since early morning.

How can you have the worst luck while having the very best of luck at the same time? It starts with an unexpected snow fall that occurs on your way to work, just enough to make driving not-so-fun. Then you hit an icy bridge, see the SUV in front of you lose control, swerve to avoid it, lose control yourself, hit the guard rail instead, spin, and find yourself facing oncoming traffic. You watch those cars coming at you slipping and spinning and generally trying to avoid hitting you - somehow they all miss. Now you back off the bridge to assess the mangled damage to your car, to find to your great surprise that it did minimal damage. Just a big scuff on the bumper and busted head light. You laugh at your awful yet wonderful luck, thank God above, and head in to work as if nothing happened.

Glad you are ok burkemi! My normal 20 minute commute took 1 hour this morning and I saw a guy go into the ditch in front of me... he kept it going and came back out. Not sure how he did it, with snow blowing up in the air 3x the height of his car. I bet he had to change his shorts though.

Well yesterday was a bad day for me. I was third on scene of a suicide and before first responders, the poor soul jump from the 16th floor of our building.

Make sure you hug your family members tight.

That is horrible, Soccer and I'm sure you will never get that out of your head. Definitely will do that.

Holy smokes! I sure hope you find an effective way of dealing with that trauma. Drinking and other stimulants not included.
