We currently have an outside company shred our documents. Procedures are that one person escorts the shred guy through the premises and then out to the truck while he shreds our documents. This was done for internal control. Does anyone else do this or because the shred guy is bonded, once he leaves, our responsibility is released?

We have a shred company representative who is escorted through the building by a bank associate. The same bank associate accompanies the shred company rep to the truck and observes the shredding take place. Documentation of the event is then forwarded onto our compliance/loss prevention area. If a truck shows up that is not set up to shred onsite, then we do not let them in the building.

3rd party shred vendor, there are locked bins throughout the building, one shred employee gathers the shred material and another is in the truck doing the onsite shredding...bank does not have an employee monitor what they are doing. business decision with minimal risk
