Has anyone seen this come up on their Risk Assessments for New Accounts? I went to the site and they say as I understand it, that a consumer has the right to prohibit a consumer reporting agency from releasing any information in their consumer file without expressed authorization. In this case, we cannot see if there are charge-offs or other banks that they may has previously gone to - to open an account. If you have seen this, how are you handling it? It does also advise that taking advantage of this may delay or prevent timely approval from any user of your consumer report. Apparently not new. Site below for Florida Rights:

Thank you!

I believe we would do the same with credit freezes on a credit report. They would need to lift the freeze in order for us to proceed.

Yes. As a consumer you have the right to put such a freeze on your account. Individuals that have been victims of identity theft often do this.

The consumer has the right to place the freeze. The bank has the right to refuse the account.

The placement of this question in the BSA forum leads me to wonder if you are using ChexSystems/Qualifile reports as a CIP tool?

Our ChexSystems Policy requires the customer to lift the freeze in order for us to continue with an account opening.
