This is my first merger ever, and as the compliance manager I am not comfortable with the ideas my bank has about the signs at our new branches for our legal date. I have seen other banks put up temporary signs on what I assume is the day of the merger. My thought is that the old bank will not exist after legal and we need to brand the building and cover the old name wherever it appears inside and outside. My bank wants to wait for the permanent sign rather than put up a temporary sign. Someone else suggested adding our name below the other bank name. We are a FDIC bank. I have searched all day and cannot find anything about the bank name being posted on the building. I am trying to find out if there is a regulation for this - HELP!!!

Have you talked to your legal counsel that is involved in the merger process. I don't think you have going to find anything specifically on point. Typically, this does not happen on day one.
