Can somebody verify if I have this correct in my head please:
Regarding stop payment expiration dates:
Consumer & Non-Consumer checks - If provided orally, we can require a written confirmation within 14 days or the stop payment will expire. If a written confirmation is provided, the stop payment will remain effective for 6 months from the date received and will then expire unless renewed in writing by the customer.
Consumer ACH items (one time stop & recurring stop): If provided orally, we can require a written confirmation within 14 days or the stop payment will expire. If a written confirmation is provided, then the stop payment has no expiration date.
Non-Consumer ACH items (one time stop & recurring stop): If provided orally, we can require a written confirmation within 14 days or the stop payment will expire. If a written confirmation is provided, the stop payment will remain in effect until the earliest of the withdrawal of the stop payment by the Receiver, the return of the debit entry or 6 months from the date of the stop payment order, unless it is renewed in writing.
Thanks for your help.
