I know all about the 60 day notification rule, but I have a rookie question. smile

But...how far back can a customer file a claim? Can they call today and say their debit card was charged twice 4 years ago? Or even older?

Is there a specific window of time a customer can file a Reg E claim for debit card or ACH charges? Do we have to go back 7 years?

Thanks!

There is no statute of limitations for a customer to make a Reg E claim. If there claim is late 1005.11(b) notes that the investigation section does not apply so we don't have to provide provisional credit or complete our investigation in 45/90 days. 1005.6 says we still have to reimburse according to that liability schedule for unauthorized.

If their claim is something other than unauthorized, then we are off the hook for investigating a late claim.
